The fruit for this wine was sourced from our Chairmans Vineyard, located in the heart of Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale. The Sangiovese displays a deep crimson red to purple colour with intense aromas of strawberries, cranberries and spice. Fresh red cherries, mulberries and strawberries with a background of earthy, savoury tones are tasted on the palate.

Fermentation in 7t stainless steel, mlf, matured in 1 and 2yo French barriques and puncheons for 10 months, filtered. Features that Blewitt Springs sand-on-schist bounce and life that brings so much energy to red wines. Think varietally- correct black cherries, licorice, capers and managed oak. Dances on the palate. Vibrant. – Jeni Port
The 2018 vintage began with excellent rainfall in winter and early spring which set the vines up very well. Budburst was on time followed by a mild and dry Spring. January saw some extremely warm days but fortunately the vine canopies had good vigour which helped to shade the bunches during the hot conditions. The final ripening period continued to be dry however temperatures were mild and conditions were ideal for steady ripening and flavour development. The fruit was in great condition at picking and had excellent flavours and aromas.
Enjoy now or in the next 5-10 years.
