The grapes for this wine were sourced from our Cockfighter’s Ghost vineyard in the Broke sub-region of the Hunter Valley along with carefully selected parcels in Pokolbin. The fruit was handpicked in early February, whole bunch pressed and cold settled over 2 days. The clean juice was then racked and fermented at a cool temperature of 14-15°C for 15 days. The wine was then racked of yeast lees, sulfured and lightly fined with skim milk, before being filtered and bottled early to retain freshness.

The 2018 vintage will be regarded as a great vintage in the Hunter Valley. With well below average rainfall through Winter and Spring, budburst was two weeks early with the dry conditions continuing through Summer. These consistently warm, dry days resulted in the driest year on record and one of the earliest harvests in history, which resulted in some of the most concentrated fruit flavours we've seen.
