This wine has been produced from Tempranillo grapes grown in the Kangarilla area of McLaren Vale. The grapes were crushed, cold soaked for 6 days in small 5 tonne fermenters, fermented and plunged 3 times daily, pressed and matured in 90% French oak and 10% American oak barriques for 12 months, blended, lightly fined and bottled.
McLaren Vale -Average winter and spring rainfall with warm days and cool nights made it ideal ripening conditions and hence had growers starting harvest earlier than normal, with most Shiraz blocks being picked by mid March. As a result the will be 2012 is regarded as one of the great years.
